Sangritana is engaged in the transport of cars, camper vans and vans, wheat on bulk wagons, bottled mineral water on pallets, pellets, mechanical components, inert materials and gravel, railway sleepers, scrap iron, chemical products, salt and other categories. It is possible to study specific routes for each Client, with the opportunity of sourcing wagons and additional services. The company is certified for the transport of RID dangerous goods by rail and waste
Sangritana Cargo offers intermodal rail traction services on national and international rail networks. Intermodal services are available to and from any main dry-ports or intermodal terminals in Italy and Europe, and that covers the combined rail transport of containers, swap bodies and intermodal semitrailers. Sangritana is engaged in the combined rail transport of P400 semitrailers on the Adriatic rail line, with strategic intermodal nodes covered, such as the Abruzzo Freight Village (Interporto d’Abruzzo), the Marche Freight Village (Interporto Marche) and the intermodal terminal of Saletti (Val di Sangro). Intermodal trains are suitable for the transport of any product category, from raw materials to semi-products, to finished products. Among the transportable goods are included the RID dangerous goods and waste inside the intermodal transport units
Sangritana Cargo is the key shunting operator in different rail junctions, including the Saletti<>Fossacesia/Torino di Sangro, the WalterTosto rail junction in Chieti Scalo and Abruzzo Freight Village. Sangritana Cargo offers shunting services in dry-ports, rail terminals and industrial rail junctions. For each site, Sangritana can evaluate Clients’ needs and to assign a dedicated shunting loco with shunting personnel in order to shunt, introduce or extract train compositions from the yard tracks. It is also available the assets management service for private and public rail infrastructure
Sangritana Cargo offers ancillary services and services to complete the primary rail services, from the wagon sourcing (direct rental agreements with wagon keepers), to wagons maintenance and ECM services, from rental and maintenance of ITUs to the souring and management of road partners for first and last mile services. The customized services offer for Clients the direct comparison of the available scenarios, finding the best solution on the market
Sangritana Cargo is capable of activating new open- access or block train services, both on national and international routes, conventional or intermodal settings, on Clients’ request. For each project, services are planned taking into consideration the line infrastructural parameters, recommending Clients’ the best rail path and the most suitable terminals in terms of prices and transit times. For these services, it is possible to activate ancillary services as well as cargo consolidations for partially loaded trains
in order to integrate conventional and intermodal train services, first and last mile road services are available. Sangritana manages on behalf of its Clients the negotiations with key haulers to arrange the first and last mile services of shipments, offering multimodal Door to Terminal (from loading point to arrival rail terminal), Terminal to Door (from departing rail terminal to unloading point) or Door to Door (from loading to unloading point) services. Door to Door services involving rail tractions are also the services that are the closest to small and mid size firms, as they allow to reduce the complexity in managing intermodal shipments and allow to make rail services closer to the local territory
train loading and unloading processes can be managed directly by Sangritana, as it is possible to procure THC services with local terminals or, in case these terminals would not provide suitable loading/ unloading equipments, Sangritana will directly rent these equipments (such as loading ramps, forklift trucks, reach stackers and/or cranes rentals), for the management of the loading and unloading activities
for each service, conventional or intermodal, Sangritana Cargo can directly proceed with specific wagon rentals, negotiating the best conditions on the market and advising its Clients on the best rental strategies on mid and long term services. From multi-fret intermodal wagons to container-flat intermodal wagons (60’, 80’ and 90’), from pocket intermodal wagons T3000 or Twin, to conventional wagons H, Z, T, F, etc., it is possible to receive a single price including both the rail traction service and the wagon rental
for intermodal service, Sangritana can proceed with the rental or with the purchase of specific swap bodies or containers suitable for the kind of service requested. From open-top containers to pallet wide ones, from bulk and tank containers to swap bodies of any dimension (20’ – 30’ – 40’ – 45’), Sangritana can rent service ITU for a single contract, adding the price to a single all-inclusive service tariff
during the years, Sangritana has expanded its operations, with a stronger presence on a national level, keeping the Adriatic rail line as core route for its services, expanding the range of its lines also to Tyrrhenian-Adriatic cross-sea services, and international ones, covering the main rail trans-Alpine crossings (there are available services to and from the main crossings, such as Modane, Domodossola, Chiasso, Brennero, Tarvisio and Villa Opicina passes).
In addition to the national rail services, starting from 2021, Sangritana started offering as first vector and main contractor international rail traction services passing through Switzerland and Austria, with destinations in France and Germany.
With the development of new East European routes and the Silk Road, Sangritana will keep progressing in its growth path, increasing the number of international services covered, in order to reach greater and more strategic flows connected to freight transport, offering a decisive contribution to the regional economy and in order to match the European targets in terms of rail freight service growth
